SSC SI & ASI Exam Eligibility Details

SSC SI & ASI (Delhi Police, CAPF, CISF) Exam Eligibility Details: SSC (Staff Selection Commission) SI (Sub Inspectors) in Delhi Police, CAPFs and ASI (Assistant Sub Inspector) in CISF ExamEligibility Details are given below in this page.

Eligibility Conditions:

A. Nationality: A candidate must be either :
(a) A citizen of India, or
(b) A subject of Nepal, or
(c) A subject of Bhutan, or
(d) A Tibetan refugee who came to India, before the 1st JAN 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
(e) A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Burma, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania(Formerly Zanzibar and Tanganyika), Zambia, Malawi,  Zaire, Vietnam and Ethiopia with the intention of permanently settling down in India.
Provided that a candidate belonging to categories b, c, d and e above shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the GOI (Government of India).
B. Age Limit: Candidates age limit must be between 20-25 yrs.
Note I: The upper age limit is relaxable for Central Govt. Civilian Employees as per extant Government order.

Age relaxation for different categories:

For ASI (Assistant Sub Inspector) in CISF posts
(i) Central Government Civilian Employees
( General ) who have rendered not less than Three Yrs regular and continuous service as on

(ii) Central Government Civilian Employees ( ST / SC ) who have rendered not less than Three Yrs regular and continuous service as on Closing date
45 Yrs
Candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in
the State of J&K ( Unreserved )
5 Yrs
For Group “C” Post
Divorced Women / Widows / Women judicially
separated and who are not remarried (Unreserved)
Up to 35 Yrs of age
Divorced Women / Widows / Women
judicially separated and who are not remarried ( ST / SC )
Up to 40 Yrs of age
Departmental Male Candidates or Aspirants for Delhi Police only
(i) Departmental Candidates (Unreserved) who have rendered not less than Three Yrs of regular and continuous service as on closing date.
Up to 30 Yrs
(ii) Departmental Candidates (OBC) who have
rendered not less than Three Yrs of regular and
continuous service as on closing date
Up to 33 Yrs
(iii) Departmental Candidates ( ST/SC ) who have rendered not less than Three Yrs of regular and continuous service as on closing date.
Up to 35 Yrs

C. Essential Qualifications:
A. Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized Institution or university or equivalent.
B. For the post of SI (Sub Inspector) in Delhi Police only:- Male candidates or aspirants must possess and also carry a valid Driving License for LMV (Light Motor Vehicle) (Motor cycle & Car) on the date fixed for Physical Endurance & Standard Tests. Otherwise they will not be allowed to undergo Physical Endurance & Standard Tests.

1. There should be no minimum requirement of chest measurement for Female candidates/Aspirants.
2. Relaxation in height & chest (as the case may be) as mentioned above will be permissible only on production of certificate in the Performa as prescribed

E. Medical standard (For all posts):
Eye sight:
i. The minimum distant vision should be 6/6 & 6/9 of two eyes without correction i.e. without wearing of glasses.
ii. The candidate must not have flat foot, Knock Knee, varicose vein or squint in eyes & they should possess high color vision.
iii. They must be in good mental condition and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties.
