SSC CHSL Exam Eligibility Details

SSC (Staff Selection Commission’s) conducted CHSL (Combined Higher Secondary Level) (10+2) Examination for the posts of LDC (Lower Divisional Clerk) / JSA (Junior Secretariat Assistant), PA (Postal Assistant) / SA (Sorting Assistant) and DEO (Data Entry Operator). Exam Eligibility details are given below in this page.

Eligibility Conditions:

1. Nationality/ Citizenship: A candidate must be either:
(a) A citizen of India, or
(b) A subject of Nepal, or
(c) A subject of Bhutan, or
(d) A Tibetan refugee who came to India, before the 1st JAN 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
(e) A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Burma, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania(Formerly Zanzibar and Tanganyika), Zambia, Malawi,  Zaire, Vietnam and Ethiopia with the intention of permanently settling down in India.
Provided that a candidate belonging to categories b, c, d and e above shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the GOI (Government of India).

2. Age Limit: Candidates age should be 18-27 Years as on 1-8-19 (Candidates not born before 02-08-1992) and not later than 1-8-2001).

Central Government Civilian Employees (ST / SC) who have rendered not less than Three yrs regular and continuous service as on Closing date.
Up to 45 Years of Age
Candidates         who    had      ordinarily        been domiciled in the State of J&K during the period from 1st Jan 1980 to 31st Dec 1989
05 Years
Divorced Women / Widows / Women judicially separated and who are not remarried
Up to 35 Years of Age
Divorced Women / Widows / Women judicially separated and who are not remarried (ST / SC)
Up to 40 Years of Age
Defence Personnel disabled or Handicapped in operation during hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area and released as a consequence thereof

Defence Personnel disabled or Handicapped in operation during hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area and released as a consequence thereof (ST / SC)
08 Years
Service Clerks in the last year of their color service in the Armed Forces   
Up to 45 Years of Age
Service Clerks in the last year of their color service in the Armed Forces (ST / SC)
Up to 50 Years of Age
Retrenched census employees of Office of Registrar GOI (General of India) (They will be considered only for offices under RGI in their order of merit and subject to availability of vacancies)
03 Yrs + length of service rendered by them in connection with census, before retrenchment, and weight age of past service.
3. Educational Qualification: 
a. For LDC (Lower Divisional Clerk) / JSA (Junior Secretariat Assistant), PA (Postal Assistant) / SA (Sorting Assistant) and DEO (Data Entry Operator) (except DEOs in C and AG): The candidates must have passed 12th Standard or class or equivalent exam from a recognized Board or University.
b. For DEO (Data Entry Operator) in the Office of Comptroller & Auditor General of India (C&AG): 12th Standard pass in Science stream with Mathematics as a subject from a recognized Board or equivalent
Note-I: As per Ministry of HRD (Human Resource Development) Notification dated 10-6-1995 published in Gazette of India, all the diplomas / degree certificates including technical education diploma / degree awarded through Open and Distance Learning mode of education by the Universities established by an Act of Parliament or State Legislature, Institutions Deemed to be Universities under Section 3 of the UGC (University Grants Commission) Act 1956 and Institutions of National Importance declared under an Act of Parliament stand automatically recognized for the purpose of employment to posts and services under the Central Govt. provided they have been approved by UGC (University Grants Commission).
