SSC MTS Syllabus
SSC (Staff Selection Commission) recruits ‘Group C’ posts of MTS (Multi Tasking Staff) in Different States and Union Territories of India. The following are the details about the syllabus to apply for the SSC MTS Vacancies.
Syllabus:
Paper-I:
Questions on ‘General Intelligence & Reasoning’ will be based on non-verbal considering the functions attached to the post. Questions on General English and Numerical Aptitude will be simple, of a level that an average matriculate will be able to answer comfortably. Questions on General Awareness would be also of similar standard.
General Intelligence: It mainly includes questions of non-verbal type. This test will include questions on space visualization, similarities and differences, analysis, problem solving, judgment, decision making, visual memory, relationship concepts, discriminating observation, figure classification, nonverbal series arithmetical number series etc. This test will also consider the questions designed to test the candidates’ abilities and mentality to deal with abstract ideas and symbols and their relationship, arithmetical computation and analytical functions.
English Language: Candidate understanding the Basics of English Language, its grammar, vocabulary, sentence structure, antonyms, synonyms and its correct usage, etc. his / her writing ability would also be checked & tested.
Numerical Aptitude: This paper include questions on those problems relating to Number Systems, Decimals, Fractions & relationship between Numbers, percentages, Computation of Numbers, Fundamental arithmetical operations, Ratio & Proportion, Interest, Averages, Discount, Profit and Loss, use of Tables and Graphs, Time and Distance, Mensuration, Ratio & Time, Time & Work etc.
General Awareness: Questions will be designed to test the ability and aptitude of the candidate’s general awareness about the environment around him and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of events and of such matters of everyday observation & experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of an educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to Culture, History, Sports, Economic scene, Geography, General Polity including Indian Constitution and Scientific Research etc. These questions will be of such that they do not require a study of any discipline.
NOTE: Only for VH candidates of 40 Percent and above visual disability and opting for SCRIBE there will be no component of Graphs / Maps / Diagrams / Statistical Data in the General Intelligence and General Awareness Paper / Reasoning.
Paper-II:
The Paper would be set either in English and Hindi and to the extent possible in other languages mentioned in the 8th Schedule of the Indian Constitution, to test basic language skills commensurate with the educational qualifications prescribed for the post. Candidates will be required to write one short letter / essay in English and Hindi each. Candidates can select to write the essay / letter in any Indian language included in the 8th schedule of Constitution.
