SSC (Staff Selection Commission) MTS (Multi Tasking Staff) Examination Pattern and scheme of examination are given in this page.
Written Exam: The written examination consist of (Paper-I) objective type paper & (Paper-II) descriptive type as shown in this page.

Paper-I contains of Objective Type / Multiple choice questions only. The questions will be set both in Hindi and English Language. The Commission reserves the right to make and set the questions additionally in regional languages subject to technical feasibility. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks (.25) for each wrong answer. Paper-II will be held only for those candidates who meet the cut-off marks prescribed by the Commission in Paper-I for different categories.
Paper-II will be descriptive in which the candidate will be required to write short letter / essay in English or any one of the language included in the 8th schedule of the Indian Constitution. Paper-II will only be of qualifying nature and is set in a way to test elementary language skills in view of re-categorization of the post as Group-C and in view of job requirements.
